Due to the current public health emergency, the parish office remains closed to the public. However, our parish staff is still available to serve you. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times.
Out of an abundance of caution during the current public health emergency all Masses and Confessions at Saint Cyril's will continue to be held outdoors and online until further notice. Click here to make your reservation for an outdoor Mass of your choice on Saturday January 16 at 4PM or Sunday January 17 at 8AM or 10AM. Face masks must be worn and social distancing must be followed.
For those who do not wish to sit outdoors you may park in the Ventura Blvd. parking lot and remain in your vehicle and listen to the broadcast of the Mass by tuning your car radio to 88.3 on your FM dial. Holy Communion will be distributed to you after Mass on a "drive-through" basis. Please pull up to the steps outside the West entrance of the parish hall and Communion will be distributed to you while you remain in your vehicle.
As the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines against COVID-19 become available, it is critically important that Catholics and others have an accurate understanding of how these vaccines may be viewed from the perspective of Catholic moral teaching and tradition. The Vatican’s doctrinal office, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), has determined that it is “morally acceptable” for Catholics to take these vaccines against the COVID-19 Virus. Their determination is deeply rooted in the Catholic moral tradition.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops states:
“Receiving one of the COVID-19 vaccines ought to be understood as an act of charity toward the other members of our community. In this way, being vaccinated safely against COVID-19 should be considered an act of love of our neighbor and part of our moral responsibility for the common good.”

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health recently issued revised protocols allowing places of worship the option to offer services indoors and outdoors. However, the Dept. of Public Health strongly urges houses of worship to continue holding services outdoors and in response to the new county directive, Archbishop José Gomez has sent a letter to all priests of the Archdiocese in which he noted that it is safer for parishes to continue having Mass outside, but leaves the final decision up to each individual pastor. Out of an abundance of caution during this latest deadly surge in the COVID-19 pandemic, Saint Cyril's will continue to hold Masses and Confession outdoors until further notice.

We are excited to introduce Grow+Go, weekly content designed to help our parishioners understand what it means to be an evangelizing disciple of Christ.
Using the Sunday Scriptures as the basis for reflection, Grow+Go offers insight into how we can all more fully GROW as disciples and then GO evangelize, fulfilling Christ's Great Commission to "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19)
The concept behind the weekly series is to make discipleship and evangelization simple, concrete and relatable. Look for Grow+Go in our weekly bulletin, parish website and Facebook page. Click on the graphic to navigate to the GROW+GO webpage or click here.
