We need your help! We want everyone who attends Masses at St. Cyril's this Easter to feel welcome. To do this, we need volunteer greeters to personally greet and welcome people as they enter. We also need the volunteers to help people find a seat, assist with taking up the collection, direct people in the Communion line, help keep people safe, and thank them for coming as they leave.
Volunteers are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to the beginning of Mass and meet with the Sacristan. To sign up please visit our Sign Up Genius link by clicking here. Please select a Mass or Masses at Easter and during the month of April at which you are willing to assist as a Minister of Hospitality. We encourage you to choose more than one. Thank you!

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence from meat.
Fasting: a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal.
For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59.
Abstinence: the norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 onwards.
If possible, the fast on Good Friday is continued until the Easter Vigil (on Holy Saturday night) as the "paschal fast" to honor the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus and to prepare ourselves to share more fully and to celebrate more readily his Resurrection.
Note: Those that are excused from fast and abstinence outside the age limits include the physically or mentally ill including individuals suffering from chronic illnesses such as diabetes. Also excluded are pregnant or nursing women. In all cases, common sense should prevail and ill persons should not further jeopardize their health by fasting.

Pope Francis issued an appeal for help for all those affected as the death toll soars. “With emotion I pray for them, and express my closeness to these peoples, the the families of the victims and to all those who are suffering from this devastating calamity”. He is urging everyone to show solidarity with these territories.
In solidarity with our suffering brothers and sisters, Archbishop Gomez is asking the Catholic faithful of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to consider making a gift to the relief effort. 100% of your gift will go towards those affected by this horrible natural disaster.
The Synod on Synodality is a two-year process of listening and dialogue which began with a solemn opening in Rome on October 9 and 10, 2021 with each individual diocese and church celebrating the following week on October 17. The synodal process will conclude in 2023. Pope Francis invites the entire Church to reflect on a theme that is decisive for its life and mission: “It is precisely this path of synodality which God expects of the Church of the third millennium.” This journey, which follows in the wake of the Church’s “renewal” proposed by the Second Vatican Council, is both a gift and a task: by journeying together and reflecting together on the journey that has been made, the Church will be able to learn through Her experience which processes can help Her to live communion, to achieve participation, to open Herself to mission.
Our parish listening sessions were conducted in March 2022.
