Give now to boost summer blood supply!
St Cyril of Jerusalem Parish Blood Drive - Msgr. Navin Parish hall 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 29, 2022
To make an appointment follow this link: https://www.redcrossblood.org/
When schools let out for summer and families set off on vacation, the American Red Cross typically sees a decline in donors, which can impact patient care. It’s critically important that donors make an appointment to give now before heading out for summer activities to help maintain a stable blood supply in the coming months. Unfortunately, the need for blood doesn’t take a summer break. Volunteer donors are the only source of blood for patients. In thanks for helping boost the blood supply, all donors will receive a 20-oz. Red Cross aluminum water bottle & sticker set (while supplies last). Customize your bottle to show your donor pride & stay hydrated for your next donation. Make an appointment now at rcblood.org/appt, then stick to it!

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles has issued new guidance on Indoor Face Masking to align with new state and local public health guidelines:
Effective March 4, 2022, masking is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED, but NO LONGER REQUIRED in most indoor settings, including houses of worship. Please continue to self-monitor for symptoms. If you feel ill, please stay home out of respect for others.
You may now attend Mass with or without a face mask. The decision whether or not to wear a mask while in church is left up to the conscience of each individual. Please be respectful of those who choose to continue wearing a face mask while in church.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation with all of our health and safety protocols during the pandemic. Let us continue to pray for all those who have fallen ill with the virus, those who have lost their lives to COVID-19, and the loved ones they left behind.
In solidarity with our suffering brothers and sisters in Ukraine, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles has launched a Ukraine Relief Effort.

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles, in accordance with the Vatican and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), recommends that all members of the Catholic community, who are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine or a booster, should do so as soon as possible.
“Receiving one of the COVID-19 vaccines ought to be understood as an act of charity toward the other members of our community. In this way, being vaccinated safely against COVID-19 should be considered an act of love of our neighbor and part of our moral responsibility for the common good.” -USCCB, Moral Considerations Regarding the New COVID-19 Vaccines
The following links might be helpful in understanding the morality of receiving the vaccine:

Since the vaccinations for COVID-19 have been found morally acceptable to protect the lives and ensure the health of all in our communities, the Archdiocese will not provide religious exemptions to receiving a vaccine against COVID-19. Parishes are not to provide individuals with religious exemption letters to enable them to avoid a COVID-19 vaccination. In the event a member of your parish community requests documentation from you for a religious exemption to the vaccination, please decline the request and provide the individual with the above information and links.
Let us continue to pray for all who have died from this terrible illness, for their loved ones who are experiencing the pain of loss, and for all who continue to work diligently to care for the sick and serve all in need during these challenging times.
